AML has experienced considerable growth in recent years and has established itself as a leader in advanced manufacturing in the aerospace, defence, nuclear and energy sectors. None of this growth would be possible without the expertise and commitment of AML’s expanding team.
A cornerstone of AML’s success is its commitment to nurturing new talent through apprenticeships. Collaborating closely with the AMRC Training Centre, AML offers apprenticeships that combine hands-on experience with academic learning, ensuring apprentices gain the skills necessary to excel in advanced manufacturing.
The AMRC Training Centre, since its inception in 2013, has trained over 1,700 apprentices in partnership with more than 450 employers across the Sheffield region and beyond. The centre provides various apprenticeship pathways, from advanced (level 3) to higher (level 4) and degree (level 6) apprenticeships, accommodating individuals at different stages of their educational and professional journeys.
In August 2024, AML welcomed three new apprentices, Zohaib, Jakub, and Ryan who embarked on their first year of training at the AMRC Training Centre. This brings the total number to seven, an initiative that underscores AML’s dedication to fostering the next generation of engineers and machining specialists.
