AML Sheffield has recently received delivery of a new DMG Mori NMV3000. The investment represents a continued commitment by AML to apply the best manufacturing technology available to provide low-cost parts to our customers. The new machine is an exciting addition to our existing capabilities and further strengthens our ambitious growth plans.
The NMV3000 DCG 5-Axis vertical machining center achieves outstanding productivity with high-efficiency, high-precision machining of small and complex-shaped parts for the aircraft industry. It utilises the original DMG MORI technologies: the DCG (Driven at the Center of Gravity), DDM (Direct Drive Motor) and ORC (Octagonal Ram Construction).
- The DCG (Driven at the Center of Gravity), ensures longer tool life, improved surface quality and roundness and outstanding acceleration.
- DDM (Direct Drive Motor) boasts the world’s fastest rotary axis drive system which achieves zero backlash, high-speed rotation and high-precision indexing.
- ORC (Octagonal Ram Construction) guarantees superior damping characteristics, controls thermal displacement and achieves high-speed, high-precision feed.
The DMG Mori NMV3000 is also equipped with an AWC 34 (automatic workpiece changer) which is an automated pallet loading system. This ensures high-efficiency, high-mix, low volume production in unmanned operation for a long term.
